Congratulations: Tan Yi Jer won poster award in ASBMB conference, Australia

A heartfelt congratulations to Tan Yi Jer (Richard) for winning the International Journal of Molecular Sciences research poster prize in the inaugural biennal meeting of the Australian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB) held on 1-3 October 2019. Yi Jer who presented a poster titled “Prediction of molecular mechanism of action and drug binding with sirtuin proteins” in Perth, Australia have made us all proud by bringing our research to be recognized in the international platform. Yi Jer’s research poster encompassed a comprehensive study on the novel sirtuin inhibitor BZD9L1 using a combination of cell-based, animal-based, and computational-based methods.
Yi Jer is a PhD student working under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Oon Chern Ein on the use of BZD9L1 against colorectal cancer. He is currently undergoing a research attachment at Curtin University, Australia where he is utilizing in silico approches to study BZD9L1-modulation mechanisms and drug-protein interactions under the supervision of Prof. Ricardo L Mancera.
