Science Made Fun 2022 at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kampong Sepulau, Pasir Puteh, Kelantan
2nd November 2022 - INFORMM in collaboration with the Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah Pasir Puteh has successfully organised Science Made Fun 2022 at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kampong Sepulau, Pasir Puteh. With the aim to nurture curiosity and interest in science among primary school children, the one-day event involved 113 students from standards 4, 5 and 6. The program started with the opening remarks by the school’s Headmaster En Ishak @ Rosli bin Ismail followed by Dr Khairul Mohd Fadzli Mustaffa on introduction to Science Made Fun's theme. The students were divided into 8 groups, which allows them to take turns in experiencing all hands-on interesting experiments such as air pressure, liquid density, candle carousel, chromatography paper, lava lamps and static electricity. Aside from science experiments, this year’s program also includes short brief on the dangers of smoking by Dr Noor Fatmawati Mokhtar and exhibition to promote good dental health care. There was also exhibition on understanding of microorganism in human diseases. The program was well-received by the students as well as teachers and a question-and-answer session was conducted to assess the student’s understanding of the theory behind all the scientific experiments that they have performed earlier. Science Made Fun is an annual program conducted by INFORMM’s postgraduate and this year’s program director is INFORMM MSc candidate, Ms Asma Nadia Ahmad Faris.
