A virtual talk, “Darwin: Talk & Demo” by Codon Genomics
18th May 2022 – A virtual talk, “Darwin: Talk & Demo” by Codon Genomics was successfully organised, facilitated by Dr Wei-Kang Lee, Vice President (Application Sciences) of Codon Genomics Sdn Bhd. The talk was part of the academic-industry partnership programme between INFORMM and Codon Genomics – Codon Genomics CEO, Mr Ivan Hoh is INFORMM’s newly appointed Industry/Community Advisory Panel (ICAP). Darwin App is a universal mobile app, a proud product of Codon Genomics, developed to facilitate the organisation of research data in a structured Darwin Cloud that ease the integration with downstream analytics platforms such as biostatistics and machine learning software. The app provides flexible configuration of recording and sampling forms without the requirement of coding knowledge, and provides end-to-end tracking of data or sample from field collection to inventory management. Among the many usage of Darwin, Dr Wei-Kang Lee demonstrated how the app could be used in the asset management e.g. equipment information, user registration and equipment booking, also the use of Darwin in biological samples registry and inventory. Codon Genomics has been so kind to provide INFORMM with the free subscription to try Darwin for the aforementioned usages. On top of that, Dr Wei-Kang Lee also announced Darwin Hackathon, a competition event to explore creatively of other usage for Darwin where winners will win exciting prizes.
