Codon Genomic Tech-day Launch, discussion on role of Codon Genomic as ICAP member and group discussion by lecturers in INFORMM
7th of March 2022 - INFORMM has hosted the launch of Codon Genomics’s CoGen Connect Tech-day. The launch was officiated by the company’s CEO Mr Ivan Hoh and attended by principal investigators from USM main campus including INFORMM. CoGen Connect Tech-day will take place in April 2022, with the main aim to initiate research collaboration on bioinformatics and data analytics between Codon Genomics and researchers at USM.
Codon Genomics is a biological data company based in Selangor that provides professional services on next-generation sequencing, bioinformatics, software, and data science in the form of contract research and collaboration. Over the past 10 years of operation, the company has been actively involved in biomedical and agriculture research, with the completion of more than 200 omics projects and publication of more than 40 papers in international peer-reviewed journals.
With an extensive track records and involvement in scientific research, Codon Genomics has recently been appointed as INFORMM’s Industry/Community Advisory Panel to strengthen academia-industry collaboration. Along with the launch of CoGen Connect Tech-day, INFORMM-Codon Genomics partnering is anticipated to spear-heading the way for others at USM in conducting crucial big data analysis and key bioinformatic analysis and improving the impact of USM research. Moreover, this initiative also demonstrates the proactive role of USM to assist the growth of local SME/LLCs in life sciences and big data analysis which is all in-line with the nation’s 10-10 MySTIE framework of moving key socio-economic drivers with the assistance of key science and technology drivers.
