HIRARC Awareness & Implementation Workshop

A HIRARC Awareness & Implementation Workshop was held at INFORMM Auditorium on 12th September 2019. The objective of this workshop is to raise the awareness of HIRARC among INFORMM staff and students and to explore the elements of an effective hazard identification and control program. The workshop also discusses the steps in the hazard identification and control process.

The invited speaker, Mr Mohd Hafizul Mohd Arop, Senior Science Officer from Unit Keselamatan dan Kesihatan Pekerjaaan (UUKP), USM gave a talk entitled ‘HIRARC Implementation at USM’. Dr Lai Ngit Shin INFORM Penang Safety Coordinator also delivered a talk “HIRARC Implementation at INFORMM”. Workshop for HIRARC has been handled by Pn. Azimah and En. Abdul Hakim. A total of 55 of students and staff from INFORMM Penang while 18 participants from INFORMM Kelantan attended the workshop.

At the end of the workshop, the participants were able to perform the Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRARC) form by their own with simple steps to ensure a safe & healthy workplace.
