Molecular Medicine Research Attachment
16-24 December 2018, INFORMM Kelantan was privileged to welcome Dr. Nouara Abdelli to INFORMM’S Molecular Medicine Research Attachment from the Institute of Life Sciences, Jiangsu University, Zhenjiang. China. The program began with an ice breaking session, introducing all lecturers at INFORMM Kelantan and brief introduction on research at INFORMM followed by easy lecture on Molecular Medicine topics (e.g. antibody engineering, cancer diagnostics, biosensor, next-generation sequencing etc.) and hands-on focusing on aptamer development supervised by Dr. Khairul Mohd Fadzli Mustaffa. The program includes visit to few places in Kota Bharu under Kelantan heritage tour program such as the handicraft and cultural museum of Kelantan and batik drawing. Dr. Nouara was also introduced some authentic Kelantan local foods such as “Nasi Ulam” and “Roti Titab” which are very popular among tourist and locals. Also, Dr. Nouara was accompanied to Pantai Cahaya Bulan to relish the natural scenery of Kelantan white sandy beach, famous for kite-flying or “wau”.
The Molecular Medicine Research Attachment is a mobility program which offers an opportunity to local or international industry, post-doctorate, postgraduate and undergraduate level to experience cutting-edge research available at INFORMM in collaboration with the USM, International Mobility & Career Centre (IMCC). The two weeks program is designed to empower participants by providing understanding (lecture) on the current topic in Molecular Medicine especially on the antibody engineering which is the INFORMM Higher Institution Centre of Excellent (HICoE) theme and hands-on which supervised by prominent lecturer in any field of research available at INFORMM.
