Industry Advisory Panel Meeting

An Industry Advisory Panel (IAP) meeting was held on 14 November 2017. Our Industry Advisory Panel members, Mr. Hitendra Joshi D.J.N. (B. Braun Medical Industries Sdn. Bhd.) and Dr. Sam Mohan Aruputham (TreeCode Sdn. Bhd.) were invited to engage INFORMM members on discussions to enhance industry-academia relations. Both panel members have extensive experience in the biomedical industry and shared their views on how the role of academicians is evolving in current times. They also commended the structure of the MSc Mixed Mode course, especially the industrial component pathway for graduate students to be directly attached to an industry during their study to gain practical experience and be trained in courses that are directly relevant to the industry. This will help increase the graduate students' employability and narrow the gap of academic training and industy needs. The members also discussed how research outputs can be marketed and offered to help in various ways through their professional networks to enhance INFORMM's overall industry engagement.
