Audit and visit by Islamic Development Bank (IDB)

IDBAudit2017 01The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) visited the Institute for Research in Molecular Medicine (INFORMM) on 22 May 2017 from 2 to 4 p.m. The purpose of the visit was to inspect the set of equipment purchased through IDB funding and evaluate the development and progress of INFORMM’s activities including capacity building that were directly and indirectly contributed by availability of those equipment. IDB was represented by Dr. Abdel-Hameed M. Bashir. He was accompanied by Dr. Dzul Azri Mohamed Noor, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences as USM liaison officer and two other USM representatives namely Mr Wan Mazlan Wan Ab Rahman and Mr. Hazri Effendy Bakri.

The purpose of this audit was to ensure that the equipment funded by the IDB were managed fairly, efficiently and effectively in enhancing research activities, staff training, constructing and renovating

 laboratories, capacity building, commercialisation, awards and other related matter listed in the questionnaire.

The session was chaired by the Director, INFORMM Professor Dr. Rahmah Noordin who presented an overview of INFORMM. She described the research clusters at INFORMM i.e. Antibody Engineering, Diagnostics for Infectious Diseases and Cancer Research, our achievements including awards and commercialised research products, and community services. The session was also attended by staff at INFORMM, Health Campus Kelantan via tele-conferencing.
