VISIT BY SARAWAK CONVENTION BUREAU (SCB)

Mr Donny Tan Yee, Business Development Manager from Sarawak Convention Bureau (SCB), gave a seminar about SCB and their roles in helping people to organise a conference at Sarawak. The seminar was held at Conference Room 1, INFORMM Penang on 13th March 2017. Prof Rahmah Noordin and INFORMM lecturers from Penang and Kelantan campus have attended the seminar.

Sarawak Convention Bureau (SCB) is a non-profit organisation fully funded by the Sarawak State Government to help connect associations, corporate organisations and government bodies with elements necessary to ensure the events are a success. SCB services include: Bidding & supporting meetings, incentives, conferences and Exhibition (M.I.C.E)

Mr Donny shared with INFORMM academics the type of financial assistance and their past experience in supporting the various event in Sarawak. Mr John Unbang, Senior Researcher and Ms Crystal Phang, Industry Researcher also helping to explain the function of SCB to INFORMM academic staff.

Ms Pauline Chong, Business Development Manager at Grand Margherita Hotel & Riverside Majestic Hotel, also gave an explanation about the hotel service in supporting the conference event in Kuching, Sarawak. While Ms Mok Venia, Managing Director at Cat City Holidays Sdn Bhd gave an interesting presentation about various indoor and outdoor activities in Kuching.
