‘JALINAN KASIH’- A COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM TARGETING THE ORPHANS

9th April 2016- INFORMM Kelantan has successfully organized a community outreach program targeting the orphans at Rumah Anak Yatim Lilbanat Darulnaim, Machang Kelantan. The ‘Jalinan Kasih’ program involved collaborative efforts from other USM departments including the A&E Department, School of Dental Sciences, Breast Cancer Library, and Media & Public Relations Center. Aimed at creating awareness on health and safety, several activities such as basic first aid, CPR demonstration, dental care, basic medical check-up and a seminar on social relationship were lined up to gather active participation from the orphans.

The program was well appreciated by the participants, as noted by Ustaz Zaki who is the representative of Rumah Anak Yatim, He communicated his gratitude for the financial aid and contribution received in the quest of completing the construction of the orphanage’s kitchen. The collaborative event was the first of its kind which would hopefully pile the foundation for other community outreach programs to bring USM closer to the community. We would like to thank all the volunteers who have worked hard in making the program a success.
