Dr Norsyahida Arifin

Dr. Norsyahida Ariffin is a Senior Lecturer and researcher at the Institute for Research in Molecular Medicine (INFORMM), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). She is a three-time graduate of USM, holding a BSc in Biotechnology (2005), an MSc in Molecular Medicine (2010), and a PhD in Molecular Medicine (2016). Her research focuses on the diagnostics of infectious diseases, particularly neglected tropical diseases such as strongyloidiasis and giardiasis. Dr. Norsyahida specializes in biomarker discovery, immunoproteomics, and recombinant protein technology. Her work aims to translate these discoveries into rapid point-of-care (POC) diagnostic kits, such as lateral flow dipstick tests, to improve disease detection and surveillance in developing countries.
