USM and Jimeido Forge Strategic Partnership Through MoU
Penang, September 10, 2025 — A new chapter in industry–academia collaboration was marked at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Institute for Research in Molecular Medicine (INFORMM) and Jimeido Sdn. Bhd. The ceremony, held at INFORMM, was witnessed by its Director, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aziah Ismail.
The MoU establishes a strategic partnership aimed at advancing health and wellness innovation through shared expertise. During the ceremony, Puan Cherry Ooi expressed her gratitude to USM for its trust and support, acknowledging the leadership of Prof. Dr. Azlan, USM Deputy Vice Chancellor of BJIM, and the INFORMM team for their commitment to strengthening ties between academia and industry. She also extended special appreciation to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Leow Chiuan Herng for his continuous guidance and contributions in making the collaboration possible.
The agreement outlines four key objectives: providing industrial training opportunities for USM students, enhancing joint research and development initiatives, organizing collaborative courses and workshops, and supporting product development with scientific validation.
This partnership underscores a long-term vision of knowledge sharing and innovation, reinforcing USM’s role in driving advancements in the health industry and benefiting the wider community.
