Sekolah Kebangsaan Sepulau, Pasir Puteh, 2 November 2022 — The Institute for Research in Molecular Medicine (INFORMM), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), in collaboration with the Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah Pasir Puteh, successfully organized its annual Science Made Fun (SMF) programme at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kampong Sepulau, Pasir Puteh.
The one‑day event engaged 113 students from Standards 4, 5, and 6, aiming to nurture curiosity and spark interest in science through interactive and enjoyable learning experiences. The programme opened with welcoming remarks by headmaster En. Ishak @ Rosli bin Ismail, followed by an introduction to SMF’s theme by Dr Khairul Mohd Fadzli Mustaffa. A scientific talk on the dangers of smoking was delivered by Dr Noor Fatmawati Mokhtar, setting the stage for a day of discovery.
Students participated in hands‑on experiments including air pressure, liquid density, candle carousel, chromatography, lava lamps, and static electricity. Two educational booths further enriched the programme, promoting dental health and raising awareness of infectious diseases.
Programme Director Ms Asma Nadia Ahmad Faris closed the event with remarks highlighting the importance of early STEM engagement. A lively Q&A session reinforced students’ understanding, and the day concluded with a group photo to commemorate the occasion.
Positive feedback from teachers and students affirmed SMF’s success, underscoring INFORMM’s commitment to fostering STEM education and inspiring the next generation of scientists.
